Mum’s Trick To Remove Burn Marks Off Iron

If you’re the sort of presentable person who regularly irons, you may have noticed something.

Over time, your iron will develop scorch marks as part of normal wear and tear.

Annoyingly, these marks can also stain your clothes if you’re not careful, and we wouldn’t want that.

The good news is we live in a glorious era of weird and wonderful cleaning hacks, so fear not – there’s a solution for those pesky scorch marks.

All you need is a pack of paracetamol tablets to get your iron sparkling clean again.

This clever cleaning hack comes endorsed by countless mums on Facebook, too.

What you need to do is turn your iron onto the highest heat setting.

Then, hold the Paracetamol tablet with a pair of tweezers and, taking care, rub it over the hot metal surface. You should see the stains quickly slide off.

There is more than one way to clean your iron, as it turns out.

Another popular trick is to make a paste with two tbsp of baking soda and one tbsp of water. You then spread this over the cool plate and rub with a soft, non-scratch cloth.

Alternatively, you can use sea salt.

Simply sprinkle salt onto a clean, dry cotton cloth placed on your ironing board, then gently iron over cloth several times until the stains come off.
