There might be no such thing as a free lunch, but there’s certainly free coffee, as Costa Coffee has just announced that all of its Express machines will be completely free to use next Tuesday.

No, it’s not an April fools, just one massively generous giveaway, as on Tuesday 1st October 2019, all participating Costa Express machines in the UK will be free of charge for 24 hours.
Sadly excluding Northern Ireland, you’ll be able to take your pick from anything on the Express machine’s menu, choosing from classics including Americano, Latte, Espresso and Cappuccino, or even just a good old hot chocolate.
With none of the Express machines taking money, you’ll also be able to personalise your beverage too, completely free of charge, adding syrups to your drink.
Available at over 8,500 participating Costa Express machines nationwide, the offer kicks off at 00:15am on Tuesday 1st October 2019 (or whenever your nearest shop with an Express machine opens), ending at 00:15 on Wednesday 2nd October 2019.
To keep you coming back for more, Costa also recommends people sign up to their Costa Coffee Club app and scan it when bagging their freebie, as everyone that claims a free drink next Tuesday and has the app will also be entered into a prize draw, with a top prize of free Costa Coffee for a year. If you’re new to the app, you’ll also get 100 loyalty points – worth £1 towards another free coffee – if you sign up to the app between now and Monday 30th September 2019.
Managing Director, Scott Martin at Costa Express said: “The coffee industry is booming with no sign of our love affair with the drink slowing, as it’s estimated 95 million cups are consumed a day.
However, for years, self-serve drinks machines have carried a certain stigma. Freeze-dried coffee, long life milk, clumpy soups and bland hot chocolate were readily stocked in machines across the late nineties and early noughties, so we can imagine how one poor experience is enough to put someone off for life!
