Do you love wine so much that you wish you could live inside the bottle? Well, you can make your dream a reality. There’s a place for wine lovers where you can stay and enjoy your favourite wines while inside a wine barrel.

Located in Douro wine region, Portugal, Quanta da Pachecha getaway spot allows visitors to stay in oversized barrels just a few meters from the prowling 280-year-old wine estate.

Each luxury suite includes high-end amenities such as a circular double bed, private terrace, bathroom with walk-in shower, and wardrobes.

The suits also have full air conditioning and are fitted with Wi-Fi connections.

On the outside, the barrels are made of beautiful pine wood and are designed by property owners Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves. They’re exact replicas of the ones used at the wine estate.

Visitors can explore the 140-acre vineyard and try some of the best wines at the estate, including white, red, rose, or even port.

During a media interview, the vineyard representative said in a statement:

“Quinta da Pacheca created the wine barrels as a bold architectural project of suites to reinforce the originality of the wine tourism offered at the site.”

“In an idyllic romantic setting, these wine barrel rooms will provide visitors a unique experience to the nature and significance of the Douro wine region.”

The estate also owns an on-site restaurant where visitors can enjoy local wines together with other locally made products, including olive oil and jam.

If you wish to experience a unique stay at the barrels, you can book a night at a cost starting from €190 (£160) or €205 (£182). Breakfast is also included in the booking price.

But if you don’t fancy the barrels, you can stay at The Wine House Hotel which has standard rooms.
