I’m A Celeb Viewers Spot Cliff Parisi ‘Smoking’ In Camp

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans have been left feeling a little confused after they clocked Cliff Parisi smoking on last night’s episode – something many people thought wasn’t ‘allowed’.

The 59-year-old EastEnders star was chilling out with fellow contestants Andrew Maxwell and Myles Stephenson, puffing away on what some people assumed was a cigarette.

One viewer tweeted: “Was Cliff just smoking?? Thought cigarettes weren’t allowed #ImACeleb”

Another also wrote: “Was Cliff just smoking?? #ImACeleb.”

Well, it turns out that not only was it was actually a nicotine inhalator that ol’ Cliff was having a drag on, not a cigarette, but also that smoking in camp isn’t actually prohibited.

An ITV insider confirmed to The Sun that Cliff does, indeed, have a nicotine inhaler, and also said all campmates can smoke – something that they said has always been the case.

Caitlyn Jenner is also a known smoker, but has not been seen lighting up in the show yet.

While Parisi has been the first person fans have spotted smoking in this year’s I’m A Celeb, he’s not the first celebrity to have done so in camp.

Last year, actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer was also seen smoking on the show.

ITV said at the time: “Celebrities who smoke are allowed to smoke in camp.

“They have to smoke near the campfire and then put stubs out in the fire.

“We don’t have an allocation regarding cigarettes, if a celebrity smokes, they can smoke.

“Smoking is not hidden on screen.”

Meanwhile, Parisi’s campmate James Haskell has also been garnering attention from viewers, having come under fire for a recent joke.

The moment in question came after Ian Wright started doing ‘some jogging’ around the campsite. Watching on, former rugby union player James Haskell said: “He’s completely lost the plot, look at that clubfoot.”

Many social media users condemned Haskell’s comments, with one tweeting: “@ITV why do u find it acceptable for @jameshaskell to mock a disability such as clubfoot on #ImACelebrity2019 this is disgusting. My son has bilateral clubfeet and this is how he runs. Pain he is in daily breaks my heart, and this grown man is mocking it!!”

Another said: “I’m sorry, but I’m really disgusted by James Haskell’s comment about Clubfoot. Why is this acceptable? #ImACeleb @ITV. This is totally unacceptable, and I expect a full apology from both.”

“We advise James Haskell to consider his comments carefully, as he is seen by many as a role model. As a result, his actions might be perceived to legitimise these type of comments, and ultimately bullying and discrimination.”
