Caroline Flack Quits Love Island Following Assault Charge

Caroline Flack has confirmed she will no longer host Love Island.

The 40-year-old is “absolutely devastated” about the decision which comes after she was arrested on Friday after an altercation with her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Confirming the news, Caroline wrote on Instagram: “Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly. In order not to detract from the attention of the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is stand down for Series 6.”

She continued: “I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.”

“And on a really personal level. I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life. Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest… but also from total strangers who send me messages to me offering help and understanding… please know that I see them.”

She then finished the post with a tribute to her partner: “And my boyfriend Lewis… I love you x.”

It comes after Caroline was arrested at her London home in the early hours of Friday morning accused of attacking her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Officers arrested the TV presenter and later charged her with assault by beating.

Flack is bailed to appear before Highbury Corner magistrates on December 23.

As well as losing this show, a six-figure advertising deal with Polaroid sunglasses is said to be ‘on hold’ after the ‘private domestic incident’ took place.

The Love Island host, 40, was due to fly out to South Africa in just a few weeks’ time to start filming the debut winter series of the ITV2 dating show.

According to The Sun, Rochelle Humes, Maya Jama, Maura Higgns and Laura Whitmore are the favourites to replace her.
