Houseparty is offering a $1,000,000 bounty for the first individual to provide proof of the individual who started the hacking hoax

Houseparty who became very popular while we’re all under lockdown is fighting back against a hoax spreading online telling people to delete their account because they’ve had other accounts hacked.

We are investigating indications that the recent hacking rumors were spread by a paid commercial smear campaign to harm Houseparty. We are offering a $1,000,000 bounty for the first individual to provide proof of such a campaign to [email protected].

People are claiming their accounts like Spotify or Paypal have been hacked, however downloading an app would not give hackers access to other accounts on different platforms. In saying that we fully advise you to use different passwords to different accounts.

Using the same password on every account is a very dangerous game, if that password is found out by a scammer then they’ll be able to access everything.
