McDonald’s has confirmed the news that everyone has been waiting for – and announced that it is to reopen some stores in the UK.
In a statement on Friday afternoon, the fast food chain said that 15 selected branches will reopen to to the public on 13 May, and will be offering a reduced menu for delivery only.
Paul Pomroy, head of McDonald’s in the UK and Ireland, said: “We are working hard to reopen more restaurants… Slowly, but safely we will return.
When we return it will be different as we all adjust to this new normal. I want to apologise in advance if our first wave of reopened restaurants does not serve your area.
“Rest assured, we are working hard to reopen more restaurants, but I am adamant this must be at the right pace with the wellbeing of our employees, suppliers and customers front of mind.”
Now McDonald’s has confirmed what will be on its limited menu, but some of the chain’s most iconic products are missing – leaving fans devastated.
The following items will be on McDonald’s limited menu when stores reopen:

- Double Cheeseburger
- Chicken McNuggets
- Chicken Selects
- 20 McNugget Sharebox
- McDonald’s Fries
- Mozzarella Dippers
- Apple and Grape Fruit Bag
- Maltesers McFlurry
- Smarties McFlurry
- Oreo McFlurry
- Buxton Mineral Water (still)
- Coca-Cola Classic
- Diet Coke
- Sprite Zero
- Fanta Orange
- Coca-Cola Zero
- Tropicana Orange Juice
- Robinsons Fruit Shoot
- Flat White
- Tea Regular
- Black Coffee
- White Coffee
Amongst the missing items are milkshakes, Chicken Legends, and most notably, Maccies breakfast.
“No double quarter pounder with cheese? This breaks my heart, @McDonaldsUK. Breaks it big time!” said one fan.
“Where’s my chicken legend,” said somebody else.
“No Milkshakes ?? The very foundation of what Croc built the business on – SHAKES!” exclaimed another upset shopper.
Somebody else added: “No mac muffin? that’s all I wanted.”
Looks like we’ll be in for a wait if we want a Chicken Legend meal with a milkshake.
