Uefa hits Montenegro with a partial stadium closure over fans’ racist abuse of England stars Sterling, Rose and Hudson-Odoi

The dreadful scenes have been made worse when Montenegro trainer Ljubisa Tumbakovic insisted he had heard nothing and he didn’t”see the main reason why I should be commenting on that”.

But Uefa have launched an urgent probe with a fee almost certain to follow to the Montenegrin FA today.

Uefa’s Article 14 says:”If one or more of a member institution or club’s supporters participate in the behavior that insults the human dignity of an individual or group on grounds such as skin colour, race, religion or ethnic origin, the member institution or club accountable is punished with a minimum of a partial stadium closure.”
