Alton Towers is offering its season passes for the same price of a single day ticket.

Alton Towers is offering its season passes for the price of a single day ticket. See, the world isn’t all doom and gloom.

The theme park pass gives you unlimited return trips between Saturday 21 March and November 2020 (with the exception of some dates) giving you access to more than 40 rides and attractions as well as discounts on overnight stays – all for £58, the price of a normal day ticket. Not bad, eh?

If you’re feeling fancy you can upgrade to the premium season pass, which costs £75 and also offers free standard parking and includes entry on summer weekends and Scarefestas well as entry into the Alton Towers Dungeon.

Alton Towers is home to some of the UK’s best-known rides and attractions, including Smiler, Wickerman and Rita.

The park has announced a number of special events to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year – including the launch of a brand new ride.

Gangsta Granny: The Ride, based on the book of the same name, will sit inside The World of David Walliams attraction within the park and offers visitors a 4D experience.

A description of the ride reads: Climb into your royal carriage as Granny and Ben enlist your help to pull off the greatest jewel heist in history! Take a spin through the sewers on a 360° special effects laden wild ride to break into the crown jewels vault! Can you grab the jewels and make an explosive escape? Careful, if the Feds catch you, you’ll be in a right royal mess!”

Alton Towers has also revealed it will be putting on an Oktoberfest event this autumn.

According to the Alton Towers website, Oktoberfest will welcome ‘families and thrill-seekers’ for ‘fun-packed themed and live entertainment for all ages, delicious dishes paired with drinks that have a German twist, as well as selected late-night rides’.

During Oktoberfest, food and drink – including booze -will be available at pop-up venues through the park. Sounds good to me.

Oktoberfest will be held on 18 to 20 and 25-27 September and 2 to 4 October.

If you want to get your hands on a season pass, you can do so here.
